Legacy managed to outclass 17 vehicles put under test to bag the top honor for the year 2009. When the performance of the vehicle for collision safety was examined for standards with the driver and the front passenger inside, Legacy was rated as the best of all safe passenger cars out there. Even it outdid other competitors when inspected for the pedestrian head protection test by getting top marks. To add to these, Legacy managed to secure a top 5-star rating offered by the European New Car Assessment Programme shortly known as Euro NCAP.
